CHALLENGE
LEGO Type is conceived as a tribute to the discipline of typography - an exploration of canonical typefaces and their designers, interpreted through meticulously constructed LEGO forms. The project offers a tactile, process-driven approach to understanding letterform design, bridging graphic theory with spatial practice. The resulting compositions function not only as studies in typographic structure, but also as curated display objects that elevate and articulate the visual language of a contemporary workspace.

STRATEGY
Rather than illustrating letterforms digitally, we chose to rebuild them physically - treating each LEGO brick as a pixel of typographic history. Research began with dissecting the anatomy of iconic typefaces and the philosophies of their creators, translating stroke weight, contrast, and proportion into a modular grid system native to LEGO's own logic. This constraint became the strategy itself: if a typeface could survive translation into brick form without losing its identity, its structural DNA was truly understood.

EXECUTION
Each typeface was mapped brick-by-brick, balancing fidelity to the original letterform with the physical limitations of LEGO's geometry. Color, layering, and dimensionality were used deliberately - not just to replicate 2D letterforms, but to give them sculptural presence. The process moved fluidly between digital planning and hands-on assembly, treating construction itself as a form of typographic study.

OUTCOME
The final series stands as both an educational artifact and a design object - a set of typographic sculptures that make the invisible logic of letterforms tangible. Displayed together, they transform a desk or shelf into a small archive of type history, reframing typography not as something read, but as something built, held, and played with.
